JANUARY PROGRESS UPDATE
Stage One – In November we celebrated the issue of Titles for Stage One which means that construction will shortly begin on a number of Lots. Out of 17 there are only two lots still for sale for that stage and within the next year the area will be bustling with people and industry. Design is underway by NZTA for the realignment of Pound Road down to Main South Road and we understand that that will be completed in April 2016. This will complete the southern area of Stage One and provide a safe link through to the main highway.
Stage Two – Titles have been issued for this stage mid January. This large 30ha area leads directly out to Pound Rd and includes a newly built section of Halswell Junction Road which will be joined into the existing road in due course. Our first build is underway with a manufacturing facility being developed for Davis Trading. Of the 22 Lots available 17 are already sold or under offer.
Going Forward – Our next project is to join Stages One and Two together with a link that includes the Pound Road grand entry. Initial designs included water features however this is being adapted to focus more on green space and lush landscaping providing a dramatic entrance way that will set the tone for the Park. This Stage will eventually lead directly to the central hub and main park area providing fantastic facilities for the workers and local community alike. At the same time we plan to complete the remaining portion of Halswell Junction Road within the Business Park.
Within the next month we will undertake further demolition on un-used and unsafe buildings around the Freezing Works to allow for the earthworks of the future stages to commence. As always, we are looking at ways to promote a sustainable practice through the re-use of materials for our historic precinct – a place where history, community, and vibrancy connect.
